Netarus is currently seeking an experienced Electronics and Assembly Technician in Norfolk, Virginia for a long-term part-time to hire job opportunity. Candidate will be performing electrical and mechanical electrical assembly. Candidate will be required to work with small hand tools and assemble small parts such as troubleshooting and repairing sensitive electronic equipment. The positions available include both part-time and full-time. Pay for this position is based plus overtime as needed. Benefits start approximately 6 months after the hire date including Netarus’ Wellness Program. Responsibilities for Assembly / Maintenance Technician role include but are not limited to:

•Analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate complex electronic equipment.  Depending upon circumstances, repair may extend to component level.
Basic to complex assembly, crimping and soldering using keen eye sight.
•Use of a very fine needle point skills.
•May require cleaning and inspecting parts and disassembly of returned units.
•Maintain the manufacturing work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
•Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
•Able to update project management system with activities performed and effectively communicate that activity to manager or direct supervisor.
• Align and balance new equipment after installation.
•Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, machinery, or equipment.
•Complete testing of printed circuit boards, all final assemblies and other electrical, electronic and mechanical components and sub-assemblies by using the appropriate test equipment and procedures applicable to each assembly prior to quality control inspection and final shipping.
•Examine the work-in process and product at end of line in detail against pre-set specifications or sample comparison and recognize correct/incorrect work to ensure the product passes quality control requirements when the product is sent on for further inspection at Quality Assurance.
• Identify problems such as failure and set-up problems, errors or discrepancies, and help by recommending solutions to aid manager in problem-solving process.
•Maintain records, recommend procedural changes, and write procedures and written reports to log and track production for scheduling and quality control purposes.
•Perform set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies, and have through knowledge and understanding of electrical, electronic and mechanical component testing, troubleshooting and repairing techniques.
•Use available cleaning solvents, degreasers, and other cleaning agents to clean work prior to soldering, assembly or other process as required.
•Maintain tools, equipment and work area in clean and orderly condition.
•Operate real-time oscilloscope, digital multimeter, frequency counter, signal generator, phase meter, digital voltmeter, frequency and pulse generators, power supplies, special AC test fixtures, other electronic equipment and hand tools such as a soldering iron.
•Determine the need and reliability of procedures written by R&D Engineering Technicians by testing these procedures and guidelines against actual practice and criteria specified to meet various compliance requirements.
•Set-up test fixtures in accordance with established procedures to enable the proper testing of a given assembly.
•Rework, repair and modify products as specified by Engineering Change Notices (ECN) to redesign, correct work and/or perform model changes when needed.
•Prepare diagnostic quotations or estimates on repairs based on established guidelines and inform customers of this estimate.
•Provide expert advice and assistance to other service center technicians to solve extremely difficult or complex problems and provide on the job training.
•Complete and process appropriate forms and documentation for equipment worked on.
•May handle customer calls for general technical assistance including pre and post sales activities.
•Monitor equipment used at bench and an appropriate inventory level of repair parts within prescribed guidelines.  Maintain up-to-date technical files/manuals for reference.
•Performs other related duties as required including tool and workspace maintenance/cleaning.
•Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
•3D CAD (i.e. FreeCAD, AutoCAD, Inventor, Progecad, QCAD, etc.) rendering background is a plus.
•Experience with CNC mills, 3D printers, screen printing and high-end label printing a plus.
